Who is responsible for your data

In plain language:

• Online source passwords and API keys stay on your computer — we do not receive them on our license servers.
• We collect what we need to sell licenses, activate software, run your account, and answer support.
• Payment card data is handled by Razorpay, not stored by us.
• We do not sell your personal data.

Data we collect

We may collect:

• Account: name, email address, and password (stored securely).
• License: license key, product edition, activation status, and device records.
• Device info: a device label and identifier used to enforce the machine limit in the EULA.
• Purchase: order reference from Razorpay (we do not store full card numbers).
• Support: messages and attachments you send us.
• Website: basic server logs (IP address, browser type) for security and troubleshooting.

Data stored only on your computer

The desktop software may store library paths, local indexes, download cache, favorites, and third-party provider tokens on your machine. This data is not automatically uploaded to us unless you send it to us (for example in a support email).

How we use your data

We use personal data to:

• Provide and secure licensed software and your account.
• Process orders and deliver downloads.
• Enforce seat and machine limits.
• Respond to support and legal requests.
• Improve security and prevent fraud.

Legal basis (DPDP)

We process data to perform our contract with you (providing the software and account), for security and fraud prevention, and where required, with your consent. Where the law requires consent, we will ask clearly before processing.

Sharing your data

We do not sell personal data. We may share limited data with service providers who help us run the website, license servers, email, or hosting — only as needed for the purposes above. We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights.

Cookies

See our Cookies page for details. We use essential cookies for signed-in sessions. We do not use advertising cookies today.

Retention

We keep data only as long as needed:

• Account and license records: for the life of your license and a reasonable period after, unless you ask for deletion and we can lawfully comply.
• Support emails: typically up to 24 months after the ticket is closed.
• Server security logs: typically up to 90 days, unless needed longer for an incident.

Your rights

Under applicable law (including DPDP where it applies), you may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data. Email hello@universalassetlibrary.com with subject "Privacy Request", your account email, and what you need.

We aim to respond within 2–3 business days. We may need to verify your identity before making changes.

Children

Our Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect children's data. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data to us.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (such as HTTPS and access controls). No system is perfectly secure. Please protect your account password and local token files.

Changes

We will post updates here with a new date. Important changes to what we collect may also be noted in release notes or account notices.
