Houdini: LOP / Solaris
When to use LOP
Use Solaris / Stage for Karma / USD workflows and material preview on the Stage.
How to import
- Set import target to LOP, or drop onto a LOP network / Stage viewport
- Select an asset and Import / drop
- Preview on the Stage with Karma as needed
What you get
UAL creates Stage nodes for geometry and materials so the asset is ready to preview and render in Solaris. Materials are set up for Stage workflows (not classic SOP material chains).
Tips
- If the network looks crowded, UAL places new nodes without shoving your existing layout
- Same-asset re-import may offer update vs duplicate — choose based on whether you want to replace or keep both
