Houdini: Installation

Requirements

• Houdini 19.5 / 20.x / 21.x / 22.x
• Supported Windows / macOS / Linux builds for your Houdini version

Install

1. Download the Houdini package from Download (account may be required)
2. Install / enable the package so Houdini finds Asset Library
3. Restart Houdini
4. Shelf tab Asset Library → Open Asset Library
   or Windows → Universal Asset Library

First run

1. Complete the Setup Wizard (library folder, SOP/LOP preference, online options)
2. Confirm cache is not the same folder as your library
3. Optional: enable online sources and sign in where needed

Update

Use Actions → Check for Updates… (when Updates API is configured), or reinstall from your account downloads.
